A send-off in style…
A big thanks, by the way, goes to Sarah for hosting a kickass dinner party for my departure and for helping my sorry straggle-y self get out the door in one piece (and with a majority of my belongings) the next day. The dinner was wonderful; everyone gathered around a table crammed with pasta, salad, bread, wine (as Sarah notes, much wine)… and, later, rowdy Bush Bingo. Can’t forget that. Anyways, I truly felt like the coolest girl in the world that night, and I’m already missing everyone a lot. Now, time to knock myself down a few pegs by moving somewhere new! Yay!

On the road… Tyler helped me pack stuff into the car and ship a bunch of boxes. That was a small debacle. Of course.
[insert story about how I sent all 11 boxes to the wrong address and had to have them readdressed after realizing this, thus making lifelong enemies of both the surly man at the UPS Store and the sweet but jaded lady at the post office who had to retrieve the packages and relabel them. re-emphasize that tyler is an angel. rationalize that such acts of ridiculousness keep me humble.]
I made it out of the city okay, though I did begin the drive by turning the wrong way down a one=way street. Now I’m in Poughkeepsie, NY, where I’ve stopped to see my sister Christina at Marist College.
